This shot was taken when my son Jesse and I went to a Cubs game in Cincinnati earlier this summer. This is Derek Lee at the plate. I remember that many Cubs swung at bad pitches that night and showed little discipline at the plate. That was an anomaly from the way they hit most of the season. Unfortunately, they are in one of those slumps again, if the first two games of the NLDS are any indication.Of course, there is still hope, but it's the hope of what most would call a "miracle." Give credit to the Dodgers too. They are playing well at just the right time.
As for me, like most Cubs fans, I'm pretty sure the sky is falling.
